The land that we stand on may lose its strength due to climate change and ground water extraction. When the soil matrix loses its strength, it can subside, damaging the infrastructures and ecosystems.
Currently, there are systems such as InSAR, GPR and several other methods, however most of them are expensive and real-time monitoring is impossible specially in the case of urban areas.
Our solution solved these issues by using an IoT solution which can be installed in large quantities due to low cost. This is ideal to monitor a very heterogeneous medium. The sensor data can then be used to develop an explainable digital twin for the underground soil layer.
